Trident Africa (Pty) Ltd is based in the Vaal Triangle in South Africa and supplies the Trident fire extinguishing agent throughout South Africa and the wider African continent.
Trident Africa is dedicated to a healthy and sustainable environment. The Trident agent combines effective fire suppression with rapid cooling, helping reduce the risk of reignition. Because of the self-cooling qualities it can be used to protect fire fighters who need to enter a burning building or are personally engaged in fighting wildfires.
Our focus is straightforward: give commercial, industrial and emergency-response customers access to an extinguishing agent that performs across the full range of emergencies and fire hazards they actually face — including lithium-ion battery fires — and support them in specifying it correctly for their environment.
The Technology
Engineered by German professionals
The Trident fire agent was engineered and developed by German professionals as a water-based extinguishing agent — deliberately not an AFFF product.
The agent is formulated from synthetic and natural raw materials and used in dilution with water. Its defining physical property is an extremely low surface tension of approximately 20 mN/m, which allows the diluted agent to penetrate and wet fuel instead of running off it.
That penetration is what drives the cooling performance, and it is also what makes the agent effective on lithium-ion battery fires, where heat removal — not smothering — is the deciding factor.

The formulation is free of fluorine and PFAS, biodegradable to OECD 301 F and classified WGK 1 — the lowest German water hazard class.
