Fire Suppression Technology

Advanced fire protection for a changing world

Trident Africa supplies advanced, water-based fire suppression technology built to protect people, property and the planet—from conventional commercial and industrial fire risks to modern lithium-ion battery hazards. Trident technology was developed with the health and safety of firefighters and the general public in mind. The agent is completely non-toxic and has unique self-cooling properties.

Saving Lives. Protecting Property. Preserving the Planet.
Who We Are

Saving lives. Protecting property. Preserving the planet.

Trident Africa (Pty) Ltd supplies the Trident fire extinguishing agent and the systems that deliver it, serving customers across South Africa and the wider African continent.

Trident is a water-based extinguishing agent formulated from synthetic and natural raw materials, engineered by German professionals and used in dilution with water. It is not an AFFF product, contains no fluorine or PFAS compounds, and is rated for use across Class A, B, C, D and F fires as well as lithium-ion battery fires.

Fire Classifications

One solution. Multiple fire risks.

Trident is rated for the principal fire classifications as well as lithium-ion battery fires, which allows a single agent to cover a site’s mixed risk profile.

A

Class A

Ordinary Combustibles

Solid materials such as wood, paper, textiles and rubber.

B

Class B

Flammable Liquids

Liquid fuels such as petrol, diesel, oils and solvents.

C

Class C

Flammable Gases

Gas fires such as LPG, methane and natural gas installations.

D

F

Class F

Cooking Oils & Fats

Kitchen fires involving cooking oils and animal fats.

Li

Battery Fires

Lithium-Ion Batteries

Battery packs, storage systems and electric vehicle installations.

Modern Risk

Lithium-ion fire protection

Lithium-ion batteries generate heat internally when they fail. That stored heat is what drives combustion, explosion risk and — most importantly — reignition long after visible flames have gone.

Trident addresses the problem at its source. Rather than simply smothering the fire, the agent absorbs heat and cools the affected cells rapidly, suppressing the fire while reducing the risk of it restarting — protecting people, property and surrounding plant.

Rapid cooling

Temperature is driven down inside and around the affected cells.

Heat absorption

Heat is removed rather than trapped beneath a blanket of agent.

Reduced reignition

Removing stored heat lowers the chance of the battery re-igniting.

People & property

Suppression protects occupants, plant, stock and structures.

Products & Systems

From a single extinguisher to a full installation

Trident is supplied as portable and wheeled extinguishers, as bulk fire agent, and as a charge for fixed and mobile suppression systems.
